Review the 8 deadly wastes as applicable to clinical processes as discussed throughout this course:
Assignment: Review the activity encountered by Office Manager Phil and from the list below determine if the order of wasteful activities is true(correct) or false(not correct):
The waste encountered by Phil, the Office Manger during his daily activity in the clinic is listed as follows:
Phil had to file paperwork for the front desk clerk that called in sick to work that day. He identified 2 patients, Mrs. Ruth Smith and Mr. Ron Smith that may have been mixed up during the phlebotomy process. On his way to deliver the x-rays he slipped on water that was leaking from the drain and almost fell. He noticed the inventory clerk was making more flu reagent than will be used before the expiration date so he instructed her to save the rest for the next day. Phil had to walk back and forth to retrieve patients and deliver them to the exam room and the thermometers had to be recalibrated before daily use. His back began hurting from the increased motion. Upon leaving for the day he stored all the newly delivered supplies in the already over filled storeroom.
